I Want The Truth

Viva-Radio's weekly show "Do You Want New Wave Or Do You Want The Truth" makes me want to continue opening my Firefox web browser.

For those of you who like your Prefab Sprout with a side of '70s folk-prog, I salute you.

It's Not A Tumor

Before we played with Asobi Seksu on Thursday, I somehow ended up with double vision, an eye like Mad-eye Moody on Harry Potter, and could not walk straight. After contemplating just going straight to the ER, we played our set... I tried to conjure up the powers of Ray Charles and just close my eyes.

13 hours in the ER of MRI's, CT's, 2 Dr's, a few radiologists and a lot of med students told me basically that "it's not a tumor". Off to a neuro-opthomologist and it's basically the same thing, lots of poking and no answers.

Today I am almost back 100%. Weird. Thanks to everyone who showed their concern.

Memory Cassette

Photobucket

I love discovering new music and I hope that never stops.

Spending a sickly Monday at home and hearing another wave of strange weather brewing outside, I've been listening to the sweet, detached sounds of something called Memory Cassette. There's no band photo and their MySpace only lists them as being from New Jersey (which makes me think of two things: goth-girls who worship Robert Smith....and well, The Boss).

For the record, nothing about Grizzly Bear interests me. Same goes for Vivian Girls. And hey, while we're at it, I hate The Decemberists.

Music like Memory Cassette is what makes me want to keep making music. It seems to come from a world where music is only recorded between the hours of midnight and 6am. Where the absence of morals and jobs make more way for tongue kisses, stiff drinks, clove cigarettes, and messy bedrooms.
